Departmental Performance Report 2011–2012: Greening Government Operations

Green Procurement Targets

As of April 1, 2011, each department will establish at least three SMART green procurement targets to reduce environmental impacts.

Green Procurement Target: Procurement Processes and Controls. Read down the first column for the following categories: target status, the performance measure and progress against performance measure in the given fiscal year. Read to the right for the results for the Report on Plans and Priorities and the Departmental Performance Report. The last row provides a section for strategies and/or comments. There is a blank field in the table beside the performance measure.

Strategies and/or Comments

  1. All procurement staff have been trained on green procurement. Green procurement is included in the course content for administrative assistants.
  2. The Procurement Unit is releasing Request for Proposals electronically and is accepting submissions of bids electronically.
  3. All contracts are printed double-sided.
  4. Folders are reused or recycled.
