In Canada there are a number of federal laws, policies and initiatives in place which govern the procurement process with Aboriginal businesses and support the economic development of Aboriginal peoples.

This event will feature guest speakers from Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada who will explore the aboriginal considerations in the federal procurement process. They will also provide participants with an overview of federal procurement initiatives and obligations designed to increase contracting opportunities for Aboriginal peoples, including Comprehensive Land Claim Agreements and the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Businesses.

If you are a federal public servant working on procurement activities in comprehensive land claim settlement areas or areas with a primarily Aboriginal population, you will not want to miss this free learning opportunity.
