Annick was a student when she first began working for the federal public service during the summer from 1986 to 1988. She officially joined the federal government as a clerk in 1988, after which she determinedly climbed the ranks to Director General of the Human Resources Branch at Employment and Social Development Canada.
Regionally, she has been a Chief of Staff, a Chief of Collections, and a Regional Director of Human Resources, her first executive position, in 2005. She moved to the National Capital Region in 2007 to join the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Later, in 2013, she took up the position of Director General at the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada. She joined the Canada School of Public Service as a faculty member in April 2018.
Annick Langlois is from Rouyn-Noranda in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. She is the mother of 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls, and the grandmother of 2 small boys.
