Human resources (HR) advisors who will not work as specialists in labour relations may still need an overview of this discipline. This course provides knowledge on laws, regulations, policies, collective agreements, the principles and practices that labour relations specialists apply every day. Through various exercises, activities and scenarios, participants will learn to work effectively with managers to acquire a deeper understanding of the field of labour relations.

Topics include:

  • understanding the work environment and the field of labour relations in general
  • becoming more knowledgeable about when to involve labour relations


Please note that since April 15, 2019, and until further notice, the Labour Relations for Non-Specialist Human Resources Advisors (P220) course will be offered using the course content of the Labour Relations: Principles and Practices for Managers (G244). Despite this change, the learning objectives and topics covered in P220 will remain the same. Instructors will adapt the course content and practical exercises to the specific needs and work context of HR advisors. Those who have already completed P220 will not have to re-take it.
