Federal assets must be safeguarded according to baseline security requirements and continuous security risk management. This course, based on the concepts discussed in Fundamentals of Physical Security (S204), examines the application of basic physical security concepts such as zoning, access control and rings of protection. Through the use of case studies, participants will learn how to apply and interpret baseline requirements and identify security vulnerabilities.

Topics include:

  • interpreting baseline requirements in the design of a building
  • assessing the needs and vulnerabilities of existing access controls
  • applying baseline requirements to better manage access
  • using rings of protection effectively
  • applying the protection, detection, response, recovery (PDRR) principle

Prerequisites:

Fundamentals of Physical Security (S204) is a prerequisite for this course.
