Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+): Applying Tools and Best Practices (T730)

Description

Type: Virtual classroom
Duration: 04:00 hours
Status: Active

To ensure equality among diverse groups of women, men and non-binary people, consideration of the intersection of gender and other identity factors needs to be a standard practice in the evaluation of federal government investments and initiatives. This course provides the tools needed to assess the scale to which Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) has been integrated into an initiative, and whether the standard GBA+ steps have been applied. By examining a number of real-world case studies, participants will learn how to articulate the context and purpose of GBA+ in their own work, and evaluate how effectively GBA+ is being applied.

Topics include:

  • identifying the steps of the GBA+ process
  • defining GBA+ foundational concepts (intersectionality, equity)
  • understanding how initiatives contribute to the Gender Results Framework
  • reviewing case studies where GBA+ was applied using the GBA+ assessment tools

Notes:

It is recommended that learners take Introduction to Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) (B001) before registering for this course.
