Building the Public Service of the Future Today

Building the Public Service of the Future Today

Join the Public Service Commission's new President, Patrick Borbey, as he marks the 150th anniversary of Confederation by celebrating the foundations of Canada's renowned public service.

"While the cornerstone of our work—merit and non-partisanship—remains the same," Patrick has explained, "our operating context is rapidly changing. We need to innovate and take intelligent risks if we are to be successful in building a diverse workforce capable of meeting tomorrow's challenges."

This is as true at the Public Service Commission as it is across the public service. Changes already underway include a new streamlined staffing framework, new approaches to language assessment, a simplified student application process and modernized accommodation measures. All of these initiatives will reduce the time required for staffing processes.

Join Patrick for a candid look at what the federal public service can achieve.
